Customer Appreciation Week - Friday

Friday was another awesome day for our Customer Appreciation Week. We started off the day with Free Breakfast Friday. We gave away Chicken Biscuits all morning long. Thanks to this we actually had a 17% customer count increase and a 10% sales increase for the day. Lots of people were happy to be enjoying a free biscuit that morning.

After we made it through Free Breakfast Friday we had our final Lemon Squeezing Contest of the week. This one was between Kohl's and Office Depot. This is Robin from Kohl's.
Robin was the only one to show up for the competition. So after a solid week of competition we finally had our first no show. Kohl's won a free nugget tray by default, but Robin's cheerleader Debbie wanted to up the stakes a little bit. I had informed them that the most anyone had squeezed for the week was 4 quarts of juice in 5 minutes. The challenge was then on the table for Robin to try and squeeze 4 quarts or more and Debbie was going to add a Chick-N-Strips Tray as well as a Brownie Tray to their free Nugget Tray. Robin squeezed her heart out and did her best but was unable to achieve the 4 quarts. Debbie was a great sport and went ahead and included the trays for them anyway. Yay!

After the Lemon Squeezing Contest we took somewhat of a break to accomplish some other items on our agenda. We made it back at 4 o'clock for our Luau Party. We had a Tiki Hut with other decorations, hula hoops, limbo and free lemonade. Here are some pictures from the evening.
It was a fun night and we really enjoyed it. Only one more day to go after this.

Customer Appreciation Week - Thursday

It was another great day during our Customer Appreciation Week on Thursday. We started off the day by taking some chicken biscuits to Lakewood Campground. We were able to hop on a golf cart with The Cow and ride around the campground handing out biscuits to all the staff. We had a great time.

After going to Lakewood we came back to the store for our Lemon Squeezing Contest. The contest today was between Camping World RV Sales and Outdoor RV and Marine World. Here is a picture of Carl from Outdoor RV and Marine World.

Here is a picture of the mess Carl made. This is Eben from Camping World. He made much less of a mess than Carl did. This was also a very close competition but in the end Eben pulled out a victory for Camping World. Congratulations to Camping World for winning and getting a free nugget tray from us. Here are the guys with their cheerleaders Rodney and Tom. Check out the rabbit ears that Eben is giving Carl. Classic. After the Lemon Squeezing Contest we loaded up the tent, table, box lunches and The Cow and headed to the Town of Surfside. We were feeding all the town employees and saying thanks for all of their hard work. Here is The Cow outside of the Surfside Civic Center. As you can see from these next pictures they were thoroughly enjoying their lunch, and The Cow.After spending a great afternoon with the Town of Surfside we had to get set up for the Gabbie Rae as Hannah Montana Concert and our Parachuting Mini Moo Cow Drop! Gabbie came out and did a fantastic job and really got the crowd going. Here she is singing away.We also got a shot from up above. If you're wondering how we pulled that off here's a picture of Will on the ladder truck that the Horry County Fire Department so graciously brought out for our Parachuting Cow Drop. After the concert Gabbie Rae did a meet and greet for everyone who was here. The Cow decided to get in and get a picture for his scrap book as well.Following the meet and greet we had our first ever Parachuting Mini Moo Cow Drop. It was awesome. We had 100 Mini Moo Plush Cows attached to parachutes and we dropped them from the top of the ladder truck. Here are the cows in flight. There was one silver cow in the midst of all of those flying cows that was painted silver. It was worth free Chick-fil-A for a year. Congratulations to Josefina who caught the cow. Here she is with her mom and the silver cow. This was a great day all around. We headed home after all was said and done to get some rest and get ready for Free Breakfast Friday and our Luau!!! I'll give you the updates tomorrow.

Customer Appreciation Week - Wednesday

We had another fun filled day on Wednesday with our Customer Appreciation Week here at Chick-fil-A of Surfside. We started out the day doing a blitz just a few miles down the road from us off of Hwy. 17. We made the rounds to plenty of businesses and handed out free chicken biscuits with The Cow there to assist us. We made some great emotional connections.

See this guy? This is David. David had never even tried Chick-fil-A before we got there. This is literally David taking his first bite of Chick-fil-A. This next picture makes me think that David enjoyed his first bite plus the other bites that came after it.

After the blitz we came back to the store to set up for the Lemon Squeezing Contest for the day. Today we matched up East Coast Honda versus East Coast Volkswagen. This is Randy from East Coast Honda.

This is Nathan from East Coast Volkswagen.

This was definitely our closest competition to date. Congratulations goes out to Randy for barely pulling out a victory. Here they are both proud of the fantastic lemon squeezing they did.

After the Lemon Squeezing Contest we got together 200 sandwiches and set sail for Ocean Lakes Family Campground. We had a great time there. The staff was very pleasant and it was wonderful getting to go around and meet them all and spend time with them. Here is Grace, The Cow, and some of the front office staff taking time for a picture.
We headed over to the Golf Cart sales office and I had to stop and get a picture in this sweet golf cart. Go Heels! The Cow took time to get a picture in a golf cart he had his eye on as well.
We also got some great pictures with more of the staff and some of the guests as well. After a few hours of spending time with the Ocean Lakes crew we had to get back and get ready for Free Banana Split Night. We gave away 170 free banana splits from 5 - 8 pm. Fortunately there weren't any serious brain freezes from any of the Icedream. Here are a couple of pictures from the evening.
After all was said and done we cleaned up and called it a night. We had to get some rest so that we can be ready for the Gabbie Rae as Hannah Montana Concert and the Mini Moo Parachuting Cow Drop that we're doing on Thursday Night. Stay tuned for more details!

Customer Appreciation Week - Tuesday

Hey everybody. We had another great day on Tuesday. We started out the morning by doing a blitz through the Surfside area. Ashley, The Cow, and myself took off in the morning and stopped by various local businesses. The highlight of the morning was when we went to Primary Medical Associates. The staff decided to play a joke on Dr. Vest and they created a chart for The Cow and put him in a room on an examination table. It was a lot of fun when Dr. Vest came in to find his first patient was a cow. There were lots of laughs and pictures.

After the blitz we headed back to the store for our second Lemon Squeezing Contest of the week. This time the contest was between Carolina First and Wachovia. Wachovia sent over Nick to do the damage for their branch. Here's a picture of Nick squeezing his heart out.
Carolina First sent over Chris to do the squeezing. Here's a picture of Chris in action.

Congratulations goes out to Chris from Carolina First as he pulled out a victory for the day and won his branch a free nugget tray. Here's Nick and Chris after a hard fought battle.

Next up we grabbed some coolers full of sandwiches and headed out to go visit some TV stations. Our first stop was WBTW TV 13. We got a great tour of the building and got to meet lots of the people at the station. Here is a picture of The Cow with Nicole Boone. I think The Cow has a little crush.

We also ran into Cecil from Cecil's World who thought The Cow was looking a little thirsty.

After we made the rounds at WBTW we headed over to the new NBC station in Myrtle Beach. WMBF opened their doors to us with welcome arms as well. We received a wonderful tour from Kyle who showed us all around the studio and let us know how things work over there. Here's a picture of Marissa with The Cow.

Later that evening we celebrated the Kid Cow's first birthday with a party. He was so excited! We had a custom birthday cake made for the cow. Here it is.

Here's a picture of the Kid Cow having Happy Birthday sung to him.

And here's the Kid Cow blowing out the candle.

Alice even got in on some of the festivities.

All in all it was another great day. Stay tuned for more updates on Customer Appreciation Week!

Customer Appreciation Week - Monday

Hey everybody. We kicked off our Customer Appreciation Week this week and it has been a ton of fun so far. Monday was a pretty exciting day. We kicked off the morning by going and giving some food to some radio stations in exchange for some airtime to talk about our upcoming week. Thanks to Blue and Korby Ray from Gator 107.9, Mitch and Alix from Star 92.1, and Tommy and Abbi from WKZQ for being such wonderful hosts to us and getting us some airtime.

After that we came back we jumped into our first ever Lemon Squeezing Contest. It was between 180 Degrees Church and Surfside Presbyterian Church. Here is a picture of Tom from 180 squeezing lemons like there's no tomorrow.

And here is a picture of Justin from Surfside Presbyterian Church going at it himself.

Thanks to Stuart from 180 for crossing party lines to hold the top of the Lemon Juicer for Justin when it was trying to fly around. Here are the guys after their hard work. Congratulations to 180 for winning the Nugget Tray by juicing 4 quarts worth of lemon juice in 5 minutes. I think Tom might have done this before. Just saying.

After the crazy Lemon Squeezing we grabbed a couple coolers full of 200 Chick-fil-A sandwiches and headed out the door. We drove down 544 and stopped at tons of local business with The Cow and handed out food. There were a ton of emotional connections made during this time. We were also able to let everyone know about all the events we have going on this week. Awesome times.

After that Will and I headed over to AVAC to pick up the wonderful 42" LCD TV they so graciously let us borrow for our Guitar Hero Night. We got back to the store and began to setup for the evening. We were running it through an XBOX 360 playing on the 42" TV while running the sound through a PA system that we are using for all the events this week. Needless to say, it was loud and big. Here's a picture of The Cow going up against Cody. Cody is an expert. If you ever see him out and about and he challenges you to a game of Guitar Hero, do not play him. I repeat, do not play him. He will beat you and then smirk at you just to let you know that he could do it again if he wanted to. I learned that firsthand.

Here's another picture from the evening which includes Will getting in on some of the Guitar Hero Action. Will on the other hand is not an expert when it comes to Guitar Hero. If he wants to play you, take him up on the offer. You will feel better about yourself after it is all said and done. No offense Will. ;-)

Keep an eye out here as I'll continue to be posting the highlights from the week.
