Spirit Night to the Extreme!

So yesterday we had a Spirit Night for Socastee Elementary. They have new administration who really got behind the effort and I must say, it was AWESOME! We started out by going to the school at the end of the day with the Cows.

Here are the Cows getting ready to head out to the buses and car riders.
They were stopped in the hallways on the way there. The kids were fascinated with the Cow's nose for some reason.Hi Fives and Hugs! Oh Yeah!Showing some love for the car riders.
The Spirit Night itself started at 6 pm.
We had students write down their names and their teacher's name while they were there. The class who had the most attendance won a Free Nugget Party! Congratulations to Ms. Doughty's class for having the most students attend with 10 from their class!
Lots of eating and great conversation taking place.
This is Simon Keays. He's the Assistant Principal at Socastee Elementary.Simon was volunteered to dance with the cows on this evening. Little did we know it was going to turn into a DANCE PARTY!!!
Did you just ask if we had video of the aforementioned DANCE PARTY? Why yes we do. Thanks for asking.

And of course no Spirit Night is complete without a little Cow Bean Bag Toss!
This was seriously one of the best Spirit Nights we've ever had as far as turnout and participation. Thank you to Socastee Elementary School, Ms. Colliver and the entire staff for your support. A HUGE thanks to all the parents and kids who came out and partied with us. You guys are AWESOME!!!

Labor Day Giveaway

We had an absolutely fantastic day here at Chick-fil-A of Surfside on Monday! It was Labor Day and we had a HUGE Labor Day Promotion. All you had to do was wear your favorite team logo into the store and you received a Free Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. We were even offering free Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese and Wheat Buns for the day. We thought it would be a great idea to add some spice to the day so we added a few things to the restaurant to make it more exciting.

We had a balloon arch with some wonderful football jerseys hanging up.
We also decided to add a football field right in the middle of the dining room in front of the front counter. We also had Madden and NCAA Football available in the dining room for our customers to enjoy while they were hanging out.The Socastee High School Cheerleaders stopped by during lunch to add a little extra entertainment for our guests and those who were passing by on Hwy. 544.The Cow decided to get out and get a picture with the cheerleaders. The Cow even decided to rock out a little bit by the road for the folks who were traveling.
We ended up giving away over 1600 items throughout the day! Thank you to everyone who came out and made this day a HUGE success! As always, we greatly appreciate you and everything you do for Chick-fil-A of Surfside. You are seriously the best Fans any business could ever have!

Visit To Dr. Ross's Office

And boy how the Cows showed up. We went to Dr. Ross's office this past Wednesday for their Patient Appreciation Day. They wanted to say thank you to their patients for everything and they figured the best way to do it would be with the Cows and some chicken! We couldn't have agreed more. We showed up at 2 o'clock with nuggets, fruit, plush cows, balloons, coupons and the Cows. Everyone loved the food but I think they enjoyed the Cows even more. Here are a few highlights from our time there.

The big Cow decided to catch some waves in the waiting room. The kid next to him doesn't look impressed, but he was.

Next up it was time for the Cow to get his checkup. He wasn't excited.
The Kid Cow decided she would head over to get in on some of the action.
And here is the result of that.
To finish out the day the Cow decided to lend Dr. Ross a hand with a checkup.
We had a great time at Dr. Ross's office and we just want to say thank you to them for having us. We look forward to coming back to visit. Maybe without the dental work being done next time. :) You can also check out Ross Orthodontics on Facebook and become their friend!

Customer Appreciation Week Recap!

Go ahead and prepare yourself for a long post. Because of the busyness of last week I didn't have time to update the blog everyday. That being the case, I will give you our entire Customer Appreciation Week in one posting. And here...we...go...

MONDAY
We started off Monday by visiting Next Media and Qantum Communications. We went on the air with Tommy and Abbi of WKZQ, Steve Kelly ofStar 92.1, JD and Blue of Gator 107.9 and Mad Max of Rock 107. Below is the Kid Cow with Big Steve Kelly.
After our visit with the radio stations we headed to Conway National Bank in Surfside who was our Business of the Week! We took a bunch of breakfast food for the staff, our Cows, plush cows, PEZ dispensers, balloons and more to celebrate them. The Cows had to get a picture by the ATM to show their support.
After the bank we decided to run by the Surfside Police Department because we were in the neighborhood. It was an unplanned stop but fun nonetheless. The Cow decided to try and put on the police vest. It didn't quite fit.
The Kid Cow decided to wish Detective Matt Happy Birthday. It turns out it wasn't really his birthday, but it was funny.
We then had to come back to the store for our first Lemon Squeezing Contest of the week. Boy was it a good one. We had Michael, Jamie and Marla from WMBF News going head to head against JD, Blue and Amber from Gator 107.9. It was a very heated battle with lots of trashtalk taking place on air and in the Twitterverse. In the end the team from Gator pulled out the victory and saved face from their defeat in the Dragon Boat race earlier this year. Michael claims that he held the top of the juicer himself and that slowed them down. I said he should have listened to me give instructions earlier that told him someone else could hold it. Either way, everyone still looks happy.
After all the Lemon Squeezing excitement we took a short break before heading out to the WMBF studios. Musu, The Cow and I decided to hop behind a desk and see what it felt like. It felt awesome by the way.
Michael and Danner decided to show us how its done. Showoffs. :)
While we were reporting the news Megan and The Cow decided to give a try at the weather. Here they are in front of the green screen.
And here they are flying through Myrtle Beach. Awesome!
After WMBF we sent a team over to WBTW Studios as well to tell them thanks for all their help and support.

TUESDAY
We started out Tuesday morning with a Beach Party!!! We took 200 sandwiches and tons of sweet tea to the beach down in Surfside and set up our very own beach party. It was a blast. We had food, beach games, slingshot plush cows and plenty more!
The Kid Cow even got to see what it feels like to be in the back of a police car.To get back at the cops the Cows hijacked one of their ATV's and rode off through the parking lot. Lesson learned, don't ever trust a Cow with keys to anything. After the beach party we headed back to the store for our second Lemon Squeezing Contest of the week. This time it was Kyle from Conway National Bank vs. Chris from Carolina First. Even though Chris was the reigning champion from last year, Kyle brought his A game and pulled out a victory for CNB. Great job guys! After the Lemon Squeezing Contest Megan got a chance to go on the air with WMBF News and talk about our Sandcastle Building Kid's Night we were having later that day. Way to go Megan! We did a blitz in Market Common at 2:00 that was amazing. We rode through Market Common with both doors of the van open, Michael Jackson blasting from the radio, Cows dancing in the street, food flying out the van and calling everyone to join us with a megaphone! Apparently we were having so much fun I forgot to get pictures. Oops!

From 5:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday we had our Kid's Night. We brought in 15 1/2 TONS of sand courtesy of Carolina Sand and Waccamaw Brick and built a beach right in our parking lot. The kids and adults all had a blast! We had a contest for the best sandcastle and one kid walked away with a Chick-fil-A prize pack. We even had kids wanting to take home buckets of sand. Parents were not as happy about that one. WEDNESDAY
We started off Wednesday with a Blitz to Lakewood Campground. We drove around passing out Chicken Biscuits to employees and guests. The Cows even hijacked a golf cart with a family still on it! I love those Cows!
After Lakewood we went to the Kohl's shopping center and passed out some sandwiches there. No pictures from this one because we were so busy. Sorry.

The Lemon Squeezing Contest on Wednesday was between Ronny from Palmetto Shores Church and John from Surfside United Methodist Church. John actually used to be in Ronny's youth group back in the day so there was some heated competition taking place. In the end John pulled out a victory. I think his youth was on his side. No offense Ronny. ;)
Later that evening we set up for our Raving Fans Dinner. We invited three of our Raving Fans to come in at different times and bring 10 guests with them for a formal sit down style dinner. Here is Musu showing off the table setting while we were finishing the setup. And here is a shot from table level. The guests loved the setting and atmosphere and I've actually heard from other people that they've been talking about it since then. Awesome!THURSDAY
Thursday started off with a Blitz into Ocean Lakes Campground. Here's a picture of the Cows with all the management staff. They loved the surprise visit.
The Kid Cow even found a golf cart that she loved in the golf cart sales building. The Cow found a tractor that he wanted to take home but we couldn't fit it in the back of the truck. Sorry Cow.We even found some out-of-towners with a golf cart that caught our eye.
After leaving Ocean Lakes we headed down to the Surfside Town Complex to finish off the rest of the sandwiches. The Kid Cow had a great time with the firefighters playing dress up.The fun times came to an end for the Kid Cow though when she got booked in jail. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
Thursday Night was 80's Night! We decorated the store in 80's attire, had 80's video games, Freestyle Music Park did music trivia and the Cows even did the Thriller Dance. Go Cows, Go Cows, Go Cows!!!FRIDAY
We started out Friday by giving away 600 chicken biscuits for our Free Breakfast Friday. It was a busy morning but lots of great times. After our lunch we headed out to Southwood for a Pool Party. The Cows got a little hot and decided they needed to jump into the pool as well. Everyone loved it. Its not everyday you get to swim with a Cow!
After the Cows jumped in I decided I needed a dip myself. After some peer pressure Megan decided she needed one too. Here we are after the pool. Good times! To finish off the evening we did a dinner for the kids from the Horry County Shelter Home. We picked them up in a limo and brought them out for a sit down fine dining experience. The kids had a fantastic time and they even got to see the Cows do the Thriller Dance one more time. All in all it was a fantastic week and it was great to end the whole time with the dinner. It really sums up our hearts here at Chick-fil-A of Surfside and our desire to build lasting relationships. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work and thanks to you, our customers and friends, for coming out and making this week all it was.
